XBOX Live Arcade Goes PC

18 August 2007 No Comment

Vista GuysMicrosoft announced at Gamefest that the company will be releasing a new update this holiday season. It will be for their Games for Windows Live development tools, which allow developers to put their XBox Live Arcade games on PCs. It is still not known which titles will be available or how the system will work. Consumers want to know if the already-purchased XBLA title will need to be purchased again in order to work on PCs but this is again not known yet.  Users hope that there will not be a need for Vista to play the Arcade games but this is again one of the many unknown aspects of the situation. The best thing we can do now is to assume that we will need Microsoft Vista in order to play the games.

More updates are expected soon. It will be interesting to see how Microsoft plans to convince gamers to buy arcade games when there are many free flash games online, together with Steam.
