Do you remember the Very Large Array or VLA radio telescope situated in New Mexico desert? Well he’s getting an upgrade. The plans are to transform it into Expanded Very Large Array. VLA is the one that discovered the ice on Mercury and now, with the help of the Expanded VLA you can have cell phone signal even on Jupiter. The upgrade will cost $94 million which seems to much, but it’s big step in the quest for finding new galaxies, stars or even aliens.
