9 June 2008 No Comment

Ushering in their latest addition to the market’s escalating roster of compact computers, VIA Technologies, Inc. presents OpenBook Mini-Note, a 1-kg laptop heavily-clad with innovative features poised to carve its rightful niche in the mobile computing scene this current year.

The VIA OpenBook totes the offshoot of the VIA Ultra Mobile Platform, embedded with a VIA C7-M ULV processor and the unified VIA VX800 digital media chipset, all displayed at a maximum resolution of 1024×600 pixels on an 8.9-inch LCD. Additionally, the hard disk comes with a minimum capacity of 80GB, and the DDR2 DRAM up to 2GB.

The VIA OpenBook provides a wide selection of broadband connectivity supporting WiFi, Bluetooth, AGPS, WiMAX, EV-DO/W-CDMA and HSPDA. Its surface features include a 2-megapixel webcam, three USB ports, audio in/out connectors, and a 4-in-1 card reader.
