With a number of solid partnerships and lots of hard work, NVIDIA are set to take Intel’s smartphone makers and MID market with the Tegra concept, described as a “mobile computer on a chip” architecture. As they work for quite a while on this project, products are already planned for Q4 2008 and Q1 / Q2 2009.

After Alienware brought ATI’s Quad-Graphics for its Area-51, now they come back and announce that they have introduced the recently NVIDIA GeForce 9800 GX2. The gaming PC is our favorite and I would really like to test NVIDIA’s new GPU on it. We were expecting that Alienware to lower their prices, but our dreams teared down although not as much as our wallet.

NVIDIA has officially released the GeForce 9800 GX2 and they say that this GPU is “fastest graphics card available”. This monster features PCI Express 2.0 Support, HD Technology, Dynamic Contrast Enhancement and Color Stretch, and HDMI Output. The memory of the GPU is 1GB DDR3 on a 512-bit interface and the memory clock is 1000 MHz. The price for the GeForce 9800 GX2 graphic card is available from $599 up to $649.

Asus is going to unveils its first gaming desktop at CeBIT 2008. It’s called ARES CG6150 and according to ASUS will provide “breathtaking performance in a menacing armor-cladded case”. The case is inspired by Alienware and “under the hood” you will find a Core 2 Extreme CPU, 8GB DDR3, NVIDIA three-way SLI graphic technology, Dual Power modules, 4 Tbytes HDD and liquid cooling. Pretty impressive for a debut, isn’t it?

NVIDIA is preparing to update it’s GeForce 9 series lineup with seven budget graphic cards, due to be released from may to July. The graphic cards will be priced at less than $599, some much cheaper and include the GeForce 9800GX2, GeForce 9800GTX, GeForce 9800GT, GeForce 9600GT, GeForce 9600GS, GeForce 9500GT, GeForce 9500GS.

Many analysts have said that NVIDIA might buy AMD, because lately they feel threatened by Intel and AMD, after their roadmap of integration of the CPU and GPU and now Doug Friedman, from the American Technology Research also affirms that. Dell has upgraded it’s XPM M1730 high-end laptop with a new graphic card, that according to 3D Mark 06 increases performances with 49%. The graphic card we are talking about is Nvidia 8800M GTX, but they haven’t added only one, but two. Unfortunately, it won’t ship until February 20th with the new graphic card in, so you have to wait a bit, if you order it. The upgrade also adds $700 more to it’s current price, but it makes it really powerful.
