Array-Based Memory Makes 1TB Chips Possible

The new technology called array-based memory has been under development at Nanochip, Inc. for 12 years, and looks like the time has come for this company to harvest their rewards for the work and money invested all this time.
This new system is expected to bypass current NAND technology, whose possibilities are limited by the miniaturization capability of lithography, and reach a level of one TB of data on a single chip.

CompactFlash Announces CFast - Could Enter On The Market Next Year

CompactFlash Association has announced the development of a new memory technology which could be introduced in the course of next year. The only drawback is that the CFast , as it’s called the new version, is not compatible with current camera models.
According to John Santoro, senior marketing manager for Lexar, the cards are destined for high-end cameras because of the high-speed data transfer and therefore he rushes big companies to start working on the development of new high-end cameras in order to support this technology.

MetaRam Announces New MetaSDRAM Technology

MetaRam has presented a new technology for desktops which is supposed to accelerate DRAM densities by 2 to 4 years. The new technology is called MetaSDRAM and it consists of an increase of the memory. They aim to double or even quadruple the amount of memory with the help of the 8GB or 16Gb chipsets that work at 667MT/s. Phase Change Memory Released By Numonyx

Numonyx, the semiconductor company created by Intel and STMicroelectronics has started shipping Phase Change Memory samples, that, as they say it’s the most significant advancement in non-volatile memory in the last 40 years.
The memory is codenamed Alverstone and is a 128MB memory build on 90nm, being designed for a wide variety of devices, like laptops, PCs, cellphones, MP3 players, digital cameras and other equipment.

Multicore Memory On The Line

A researcher named Joseph Ashwood inspired from the multicore processors to begin working on the multicore memory, that he sees in stores in the next few years. He began designing the multicore memory and has been reviewed by a team from Carnegie Mellon.
