We didn’t hear too much from Dell about the 500 laptop, we only knew that it’s coming and many thought that it might compete with Asus’ ultraportable, Eee PC. Well, know the speculation is over as on Dell’s support site appeared the Vostro 500 which is based on Intel’s version of Vostro 1000 using a Celeron processor and Intel’s 965 graphics. The Vostro 500 will feature a 15.4 display which is more than enough for most of us.

In 2006 many MacBooks and ThinkPads were recalled because their manufacturers spotted some problems at the batteries, problems that could make them catch fire. Nowadays, the batteries seem to have regained their safety, but specialists warn that they still can catch fire in case of “mistreatment”.

The laptop will help you work when you are driving a car and you are not at the office. This concept was designed by Anna Lopez and it’s called Cario - The Notebook On The Go. Its users will work better while they are waiting at the semaphore or the traffic is infernal, but you can work whilst driving in HUD or Head Up Display.

When I first saw this concept, I was not sure if it’s a laptop or a PC. In the end I figured it out: it’s obviously a laptop. What I really don’t understand is why did they put it into a desk? But then again I draw the conclusion that this is exactly what makes it so attractive. Besides the cool desk, the laptop called Roteburu will feature a touch-panel keyboard and a 22-inch LCD.

The next laptop concept in our series is destined for those who are fond of music, especially for the DJs or wannabe DJs. This notebook was designed by Fujitsu and it’s called Turntable Laptop because it features turntable applications on the laptop’s lid. In its final version, the notebook will feature a 20-inch LCD screen and the Turntable functions will be controlled with the help of a touch screen.
