The Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency, or JAXA, has launched an experimental communications satellite on Saturday which is destined to improve data transmission in Japan and Southeast Asia. The satellite, Kizuna, was sent into the orbit with the help of H-2A Rocket from the Southern Island of Tanegashima.
Kizuna will orbit at 175miles from Earth, it will enable data transmission of 1.2Gigabytes per second through 2 large multi-beam antennas. The communications satellite was develop with the help of Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Ltd.

The Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency, or shortly JAXA, is Japan’s national aerospace agency and its purpose is to develop and launch satellites into orbit. Their latest project consists of developing space solar systems which send power and energy to the earth.
On February 20th they will begin testing the microwave power transmission which is destined to beam to earth, through a 2.4-meter rectifying antenna, enough energy to power a household heater.
JAXA plans to build an entire space system of solar-power collectors in order to ensure the energy enough electricity to power 500,000 homes.
