Tuesday, Google launched their latest web service, Google Buzz. Google Buzz is Google’s approach to the social media stream. Google played it smart by simply implementing Google Buzz into Gmail–instead of building up a new product completely from scratch.

According to the Wall Street Journal, Google plans to challenge social networks such as Facebook and Twitter as soon as this week. Apparently, Gmail’s coming update will feature a social stream on its home page, displaying friends’ media and status updates.
