Sanyo Xacti HD1010 Slow Motion Camcorder

Sanyo decided the EX-F1 slow motion digital camera from Casio needs some competition, so they released this Xacti HD1010 slow motion camcorder to keep them busy. The 1080i HD camera can apply face detection for up to 12 people simultaneously, and  has 300 frame per second slow motion as well as seven frame per second while still recording.

Update For Gigabyte’s M912

Here’s what you should expect: an 1.6GHz Intel Atom CPU supporting 1GB RAM, 8.9 inch WXGA convertible touchscreen display with a maximum resolution of 1280 x 768 and LED backlight, HDD options of 120, 160 and 250GB.

Digital Image Sensor Made Of 12,616 Lenses

According to a project involving a concept camera, robots could replace humans in various domains that require delicate tasks. Researchers from Stanford University are trying to put together a digital image sensor which consists of 12,616 with the purpose of generating better 3D images.
This sensor uses a special technique that consists of attaching the lenses directly to the image sensor which means that is not necessary for the main lenses to be high-quality because they are an opening for the lenses. This technology makes the 12,616 lenses to provide a …

CompactFlash Announces CFast - Could Enter On The Market Next Year

CompactFlash Association has announced the development of a new memory technology which could be introduced in the course of next year. The only drawback is that the CFast , as it’s called the new version, is not compatible with current camera models.
According to John Santoro, senior marketing manager for Lexar, the cards are destined for high-end cameras because of the high-speed data transfer and therefore he rushes big companies to start working on the development of new high-end cameras in order to support this technology.

Nikon To Release CoolPix L18

Yesterday, Nikon released the CoolPix L18 digital camera. The compact camera features  8-megapixels, 3x Zoom-Nikkor lenses, a 3.0-inch LCD screen, anti-shake AE for great quality and automati red-eye correction. The L18 is equipped with Easy Auto Mode which automatically adjusts the settings and controls when shooting.
Also, the buyers can enjoy the TV-quality movie recording which can be stored on 32MB of internal memory, but the camera also supports SD micro slot and SDHC memory card.
The shipping is scheduled for March 2008 and the price should be around $140.
