Sony has announced a new line of high speed memory sticks, the Memory Stick PRO-HG Duo, in capacities from 1 to 4GB. The memory cards have a 30Mbps transfer rate and connect trough a 8bit parallel interface, while the old ones were using 4bit interface. Also, Sony will release ExpressCard adapters that will make the new sticks compatible with old, 4bit parallel interface readers, but the price and availability are unknown. The new memory cards will be priced at $60 the 1GB one, $90 for 2GB and $150 for 4GB of storage capacity and will be available from August.
