Sony Rumored to Use Windows Mobile

20 September 2007 One Comment

Sony EricssonThe Commercial Times recently reported that High Tech Computer just received ODM orders for Windows Mobile based smartphones. The company that made the orders is none other than the one that backs Symbian based UI, Sony Ericsson. It seems that this will have an impact on mobile phone markets around the second part of 2008 and the units expected to be employed should number around one million so far. As expected, as soon as this news was released, HTC stocks rose 4 percent. The problem here is that it is highly unlikely that Sony, a company that is a shareholder of Symbian, would make the change to Windows Mobile. We will have to wait but we must say that this move would be good for seeing some Sony mobile phones on Windows Mobile. They could sure do a lot more things.

Does it means that SE is tired with all issues and lack of software for Symbian UIQ?
