Sony has introduced three new high definition camcorders, the HDR-SR5, HDR-SR7 and HDR-CX7. The Sony CX7 seems to be the world’s lightest and smallest high definition AVCHD camcorder, weighting 15 ounces, including the battery. It records directly on the Memory Stick Pro Duo memory card.

The SR7 has a 60GB HDD, that can hold up to 22 hours of 1080i resolution videos and the SR5 can only record 15 hours, featuring a 40GB HDD.

The cameras feature 2.7″ LCD displays, the SR7 and CX7 sport 6 megapixel stills and 3 megapixel video sensors, but the SR5 only takes 4 megapixel photos and records 2 megapixel videos. Sony’s SR5 is priced at $1,100, CX7 at $1,200 and SR7 at $1,400, having good prices for the quality and features they have.
