Solar Laptop Doesn’t Need Other Power Source

15 March 2008 2 Comments

Solar Laptop

Wouldn’t you love a laptop that only has to stay in direct sunlight to work ? Nikola Znezevic of Nikoladesign thought of that ad designed a concept that does exactly that, without needing other power source. Along with cutting energy consumption, being environmental-friendly, it’s also excellent on portability, on the battery side. Unfortunately it’s not very small and low-weight, but you have to pay the price for unlimited power.

The laptop features a solar panel that’s attached to it and it charges while in sunlight. The advantage is that you can detach the panel when you don’t need it so the laptop will be lighter and smaller. Also it features built-in GPS, satellite telephone access, but we have no idea about other specifications. Hopefully it will get out of the concept phase and get into production.

Low power DC systems rule! and are for the most part, wind and solar powered, great for off-grid lifestyle, and all that the American people will be able to afford very soon.
“Servel” solid state fridges from Sweden, LED lights, solar heating, super insolated homes, cell phones, microwave cooking and careful science-intensive home gardens combined with smaller cottage industries may be the best answer for a large part of an oil starved American population as well as the retirement age folks Bicycles may make a big come-back too.
