AMD have officially announced their latest platform for laptops, but the Turion X2 Ultra Dual-Core processors, the ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3000 graphic series and the 780 chipset will not wear a ‘Puma’ sticker. The products will be shown to the public on Wednesday, at events that will take place in Taipei and Paris.
The most important feature of the platform is the hybrid graphics, and the new discrete graphics chips are called ‘Sobon’. AMD are sustaining their idea that we don’t need higher processing power for the applications we already use, but higher graphics capabilities.
