Adobe promised the world that they would release a lightweight online version of their highly popular Photoshop. Well, at the Photoshop World conference they gave a sneak peak of what was to come. There was a brief demonstration held by John Loiacono, senior vice president of the Creative Solutions Business Unite of Adobe, and some details were given.

This product will be aimed towards regular users and not professional photographers. It is created to complete the Photoshop Creative Suite 3 and Photoshop Elements and wants to make “imaging technology immediately accesible to large numbers of people”, according to product manager John Nack. The new Photoshop version will be called Photoshop Express and it is basically a Flash application that will run in a browser based environment. The entire system is still under development but the preview given is very promising. Image adjustments are possible just by rolling over a different version shown at the top of the browser. You can
then preview the picture and then choosing the needed amount of modification.

Adobe only gave possible users a teaser with this demonstration and no extra details were released. It is still not known when the product will be ready or how much it will cost. With the earlier release of Adobe Premiere Express, some people even think it will be a free service but this is highly unlikely.
