Nokia 5300 Xpress Music
Almost everyone who has a good mobile phone enjoys listening to music on their one. Nokia took a bit of a chance by getting involved in the slider craze, but they seem to have done ok.
Design isn’t revolutionary, it’s even a bit bulky, measuring 3.6 by 1.9 by 0.8 inches but it’s very light (3.6 ounces). It also features a 1.3-megapixel camera, Bluetooth, and an expandable memory slot. The display measures 320×240 pixels and supports 262,144 colors. The menu is simple and colorful, easy to use. Below the display there are some navigation controls, covered in a rubberized skin. Also, two soft keys, which are programmable for one-touch access, and the Talk and End buttons can be found there. The keypad buttons can be revealed by sliding up. At the left of the screen you can find the dedicated music controls, that make it easy to acces the music player. On the lower right side there is a volume rocker and a dedicated camera shutter. The camera lens is on the back. The infrared port is also on the top, while the power control and ports for the mini-USB cable and the charger are on the top end.
A 1,000-contact phone book is available, with enough space to enter five phone numbers ( plus a PTT number, e-mail and Web addresses, a job title and a company name, work and home street addresses, a birth date, a nickname, a formal name, and notes) for each entry. You only get 10 64-chord tones but you can assign different ones for your contacts. Also, full Bluetooth with a stereo profile, an infrared port, a speakerphone, PC syncing, a mini-USB port and a unit/currency converter for international travelers are included. But, what makes it special is the music player. It’s very easy to transfer files to the phone; the controls are easy to use and integrated well; with more than enough memory, stereo Bluetooth and quality sound, the cell-phone music fans will very likely love this.
It also has a first-rate 1.3-megapixel camera that takes JPEG pictures in six resolutions: 320×240, 640×480, 800×600, 1,290×960 and 1,280×1,024. The camera has a many settings (three quality modes, five color effects, a note mode, a 10-second self-timer, a sequence mode for shooting three photos in rapid succession, adjustable white balance, and an 8X zoom). The camcorder can film in two resolutions 129×96 and 176×144. Quality is ok. Price is $248.00.
