Motorola W315 Reviews

27 April 2007 No Comment

The Motorola W315 is a simple cell phone, with low call quality and hard-to-use keypad, that’s mostly design for making calls and less for other features, but, unfortunately, it’s not even good for this. Also, it’s battery lifetime is quite low for a cell phone from it’s class. It’s $9.99 price, with a two year contract is a bargain, but the customer should prefer quality instead of low pricing, especially that a cell phone is designed to make calls and type messages and the W315 is good at none of those two.

It has 3.48×1.96×0.98 inches in size and 4.06 ounces, being quite big for a phone with so basic specs, but, unfortunately, it’s size and weight aren’t it’s main issues. It can also be an issue if you have small pockets and it won’t fit. It’s external display is placed vertical and includes the signal strength, caller ID, battery life and time. The display is monochrome, while you don’t need a color one for such a basic phone.

The internal display supports 65k colors, but the quality and 128×160 pixels resolution are not the best. The display is 1.8″ big and the phone uses Verizon’s menu, instead of the standard Motorola one. The keys are too flat and hard to use, but the navigation one is spacious and well placed.

It’s memory can hold up to 500 contacts with six phone number and an email adress for each one. The contacts can be sorted by groups and the user can assign polyphonic ringtones and photos to them.

The Motorola W315 also features text messaging, voice dialing, vibrations mode, a calculator, calendar, voice memo recorder and alarm clock, along with a speakerphone. It can be personalized with sounds, themes, wallpapers and menu colors, along with a text or banner greeting.

It’s battery lifetime is of 8.5 hours in talk time and 8.8 days in standby, but that’s from the producer, while it seems to be much lower than that.
