More Unlocked iPhones than Thought Of

6 October 2007 No Comment

iPhone

Different analysts have pointed out that around 10% of iPhones sold are actually bought by individuals that unlock them and then resell them at higher price tags around the world. There is a limit of purchasing 5 iPhones at a time and it does look like a lot of people are doing so. This would actually translate in the fact that there are a lot of unlocked iPhones out there, certainly more than previously reported as different users are also unlocking their mobile phones themselves. It could be a very profitable deal if we do the math. In Russia for instance, one unlocked iPhone is sold for around $800. One iPhone costs around $450 with added tax. One round ticket to Moscow from Chicago is around $600. If we calculate the possible profit from 5 iPhone units we will see that we have $1150 in profit on a single sales experience. It is quite an interesting and possibly high profits bringer deal. This only means that demands for unlocked iPhones are very high all around the world.
