Microsoft introduces Xbox 360 Elite in Japan

According to Microsoft Corp. the advanced version of their Xbox 360 video game console called Xbox 360 Elite will be launched in Japan on October 11. This is because Xbox 360 sales in the country are far less than that of competitors Sony’s PlayStation 3 and Nintendo Co. LTD’s Wii.
The Xbox 360 Elite comes with a built in 120-GB hard drive, six times bigger than that of a regular console and twice as big as a PlayStation 3. You can thus store on it thousands of audio files and even high-definition movies, games or TV shows. Sales price is expected to be around $390. Japan sales have been unexpectedly low if compared with those in USA. Microsoft only sold 122,565 units in the first six months of the year in the country. Nintendo on the other hand sold 1.78 million and Sony PlayStation 3 units bought reach 503,554.
