MetaRam has presented a new technology for desktops which is supposed to accelerate DRAM densities by 2 to 4 years. The new technology is called MetaSDRAM and it consists of an increase of the memory. They aim to double or even quadruple the amount of memory with the help of the 8GB or 16Gb chipsets that work at 667MT/s. The DDR2 SDRAMs can be introduced into D-RIMMs without the necessity to change software of hardware configuration. According to MetaRam they will start shipping as of next month but for the moment they didn’t announce any pricing.
