Maxtor BlackArmor: Beauty Meets Security

11 June 2008 No Comment

The growing trend in technological advancement these days is either going green or going secure. With the BlackArmor USB Hard Drive, Maxtor steered its path towards the latter.

This portable storage device offering makes use of the Seagate Secure Technology, providing full disc 128-bit AES encryption. Having this government-grade maximum security level simply means that you can have it set up in such a hack- and crack-proof way that in the hands of someone other than the owner’s, it CANNOT be unlocked – not even through professional recovery service – and as such, worthless to thieves.

In the looks department, the external drive is a sure sight for sore eyes having a strikingly stylish design that one would definitely love to brandish around.

Initially, the BlackArmor comes with 160GB storage capacity and is estimated to be priced at around $150. Market availability is expected second quarter of the current year.
