Lenovo ThinkPad X60s

21 March 2007 No Comment

It’s the latest in ThinkPad X series and there have been some upgrades made, but it still doesn’t have built-in optical drive but it has a large keyboard and some other things which may make for it’s price. Also, it lacks built-in support for ExpressCards so you will probably like it a lot, or dislike it a lot, depends what you need.

It measures 10.5 inches wide, 8.3 inches deep, and 0.8 inch thick and it weighs 2.7 pounds but if you add all the needed to it, it will be a bit heavier. It has a 12.1-inch display which has a 1,024×768 native resolution. The display is pretty big but the resolution could be better; still, it’s ok. It has all the ports you can want VGA, four-pin FireWire, and three USB 2.0 ports, as well as headphone and microphone jacks and it also includes slots for Type II PC Cards and Secure Digital cards.

The performance is good; it features solid hardware, an Intel Core Duo 1.66GHz processor; 512MB of fast 667MHz RAM; a midsize 80GB, 5,400rpm hard drive; and integrated Intel graphics. It has gained a lot of speed and it’s especially good when used for multitasking. It’s way better than its predecessor.

The battery life is very good. Also, it has some interesting features like fingerprint reader and also integrated WWAN radio. It will get the job done and it has a very portable design but the bad side is that it’s expensive. Price $1669.00.
