Lenovo ThinkPad T60P Reviews

11 April 2007 No Comment

The Lenovo ThinkPad T60P ( Vista Version ) comes with a wide screen, which is more consumer friendly than it’s older version, non-wide. It’s design is professional and nice looking, making it look like a real business laptop, that is. It only weights 5.3 pounds, 6.2 including the AC adapter and is 14″ wide, being a bit too big to fit in some laptop cases. It comes with a high quality keyboard, being extremely comfortable and easy to type on. The laptop has an eraser head and also a touch pad, each of them having mouse buttons too. The keyboard is also illuminated with a light above the screen, so you can type in the dark. The light can be turned on and off by pressing Fn + Page Up.

ThinkPad T60P’s 14.1 inch display has a 1,400×1,050 screen resolution, offering the consumer a wide view.

The T60P features three USB 2.0 ports, a VGA output, for plugging in an external display, a headphone and mic standard jack, PC Card and ExpressCard slots. It also sports a 56Kbps modem, a Gigabit Ethernet, 802.11a/b/g WiFi and Bluetooth, as networking solutions. Unfortunately, it lacks FireWire and a memory card reader.

It’s security measures include a fingerprint reader and the ThinkVantage Active Protection System, which, with the use of a motion sensor, protects the HDD in case of a fall.

For the base price of $1,200, you get a 1.67Ghz Intel T5500 processor, 512MB of DDR2 RAM and Windows XP Pro, but you can configure it and considerably increase it’s performances and it’s price too.

It has a six cell battery, which has a lifetime of a bit ofer 3 hours, but there is the possibility to upgrade to a nine cell battery for an extra $30. The laptop comes with a one year warranty, being normal for consumer laptops, but short for business laptops.
