After AMD has announced the new quad core Phenom processors, Intel is introducing the new 3.2Ghz QX9770 Core 2 Extreme processor. It seems it will be the fastest processor on the market, featuring the 45nm Yorkfield class silicon, a 12MB L2 cache and a 1,600Mhz FSB. Until now, Intel’s fastest processor was the Core 2 Extreme QX9650, but the QX9770 is 5 to 8% faster than it, so there should be some improvements in speed. The processor should be available in Q1 2008 for a price of about $1,200.
