HD DVD’s Intentions to Keep Up With Blu-ray Are “useless resistance”

Hiroyuki Shimizu, Research Analyst, states that due to Toshiba’s price-cutting the battle between HD DVD and Blu-ray will continue, but not for long. He says that this actions are useless, because they are just delaying the what seems to be inevitable. Shimizu says in Gartner’s Semiconductor DQ Monday Report that, Gartner is expecting that the battle will be won by Blu-ray by the end of 2008. Blu-ray are also backed by five of the seven major Hollywood studios, so it seems that HD DVD will lose this one.
