Griffin iTrip Pocket Review

Griffin is considered a pioneer for iPod friendly FM transmitters but has always suffered from weak signal strength. This was still not changed with the iTrip Pocket, a perfect device if you live away from the big cities and would love to have a FM transmitter that can also be used as a keychain. If you do here is a lovely device with a very compact design and friendly user interface at just $49. iTrip Pocket measures 1.6 inches wide, 1.1 inches tall and 0.2 inches thick and is actually smaller than half of a Samsung E340i and as thin as iPod Nano. You can take the device and connect it to almost any iPod and this process will make the tuner display to appear on the player’s screen.
What is very nice with the iTrip Pocket is the simplicity it offers. If you want to use it just plug it in an iPod and turn the player on. The radio transmitter automatically turns on as well and then you can use its preset keys to navigate to any frequency you can catch.
As mentioned above, the only problem we found stands in the iTrip’s hold of stations. We have a really small device here with a small transmitter and this means that unless you have a vacant channel near you can expect static and dropouts.
To sum it up, the iTrip Pocket is a great device to have but only if you leave in an area with a lot of open channels. If not you can expect problems!
