We all know that the 700Mhz wireless spectrum is going to be opened by the FCC and the companies will have to bid on an auction, for it. Google has also announced that they will bid about $4.6 billion, if FCC meets their demands. They want FCC to allow the 700Mhz spectrum for “open applications, open devices, open networks, and open services“, demand that FCC’s Chairman Kevin Martin seems to agree with.

Google really wants to rule the world
If they allow open systems, this will be the death knell for phone companies. They control our communication too much. Once new scenarios are demonstrated, even the FCC will be forced to dismantle the legacy allocations that have a stranglehold on public communications. The best thing would be no bureaucrats or business to control this spectrum. UWB would be one thing that could be explored without overwhelming overcontrol.
there is talk about taxing emails. what ur saying about controlling communication is spot on.

“Google really wants to rule the world”
It’s can’t be any worse than Microsoft and it’s current proprietary stranglehold on the world.
The real upside to this is… it’s going to be “open technology”…
I Love Google. I’ll let her do whatever she wants. Just let me be free!
