Epson Stylus Photo R1800

It is not the newest the newest thing around, but it has some features which make it still be a good choice for some. It is for the budget-minded, but it also has good quality.

It has eight tanks which are represented by cyan, magenta, yellow, red, and blue, plus a choice of photo black or matte black. The design is nice, makes it easy to use; it has roll-paper capability, which permits prints as large as 13×44 inches. With black-and-white output and gray it does ok, not very good. The writing is easy to see and stands out, but there are some minor irregularities.

It does the work pretty fast, and the good dynamic range and color accuracy is also a good thing. When you don’t use it for weeks, it will not print red, but that is not certain.

The bad thing is that it makes some noise when printing, and it also has some other small quirks. But it is very solid medium-format printer with some nice features. Price is $473.49.
