Solid State Disks or SSDs are being tested by “developers” in order to make them cheaper and to increase the capacity. The latest idea is to use a flash to SATA adapter. The usually price for this storage would be between $600 and $1000, but they managed to reduce the cost to an unbelievable $100. The results say that the DIY SSD are faster than the traditional drive available for MacBook Air, even fasterĀ than the Vaio Tz 64GB.
The tests were taken with the help of a 7200 rpmĀ 2.5-inch drive and a 128 GB SATA SSD and other result is the fact that these SSD need the same amount of power.
We hope to see more tests like this and we are very confident to bring you more informations as soon as possible.
