Dell XPS 710 H2C Reviews

21 January 2007 One Comment

The Dell XPS 710 H2C is an extreme gaming system, at a price below standards, especially that it has two graphic cards in SLI configuration and other great components, overclocked CPU with warranty, silent cooling system. It’s price is $5,759 and is worth this price. It has a 3.2Ghz Intel Core 2 Extreme QX6700 quad core CPU, overclocked and with warranty included, 4GB of DDR2 RAM, at 667Mhz, two Nvidia GeForce 8800 GTX graphic cards of 768MB each, and more than 1TB of HDD space, composed of two 150GB HDDS@10,000 RPM and a 750GB HDD @7,200 RPM. All those components are running on a modified Nforce 590 SLI motherboard.

The system is configured and designed to be extremely quiet and it seems they got it. The processor is chilled by a Peltier cooling system in combination with liquid cooling. IT also comes with a DVD burner and a DVD/CD-RW combo drives, a Sound Blaster X-Fi Extreme Music sound card, but unfortunately it doesn’t feature a Blu-Ray drive.

It also includes a media card reader and floppy disk ( is it still used ? ) and to increase it’s gaming performances, a Razer Tarantula keyboard and Razer Copperhead mouse, which come as an extra option, so if you want to pay less, you can get standard mouse and keyboard.

The system currently comes with Windows XP Home installed and the customer gets a coupon for a free Windows Vista 32 bit, which is not the best for this system, because it recognizes only 2.75GB of RAM, so the 64 bit version is recommended.

The Dell XPS 710 H2C comes with a year warranty and it’s a great gaming system at a low price.

Um, system looks great, but I’m not sure about the 32 bit vista upgrade. If you go 64, won’t you be having trouble running a lot of apps?
