Dell 3110cn Reviews

21 January 2007 No Comment

If you’re looking for a middle priced and middle performing laser printer, the Dell 3110cn could be a good option, priced at only $500 and with some good features. It’s quite a big printer, but working with laser and the size can be justified. It’s sizer are 19.1″ deep, 15.8″ wide and 18.5″ tall and weights 53 pounds. It uses two sheet sources, a 250 sheet one and a 150 sheet one. The output tray can hold up to 250 sheets and there is an option to buy an additional input drawer that holds 550 sheets, for $230, a non justifiable price and not really useful, due to the output tray.An additional duplexer is available as an add-on for $200 more. The printer runs on a 400Mhz processor, with 128MB of RAM, which can be upgraded to more than 1GB. It’s connectible via USB, parallel port or Ethernet port and for an additional $150 you can connect it wireless.

The Dell 3110cn comes with a 5,000 pages black cartridge and a 4,000 pages color cartridge and the replacement cartridges cost $76 the 5,000 pages one and $110 for the 8,000 pages cartridge, but this is for the monochrome ones. The color cartridges cost $120 for 4,000 pages and $215 for 8,000 pages.

This printer is one of the fastest on the market, when printing in mono, but it’s slow on color printing. It’s quality is not quite the best, text becoming unreadable at low sizes and the black color being not so dark. It comes with a one year warranty, which can be upgraded yo up to 4 years. Dell’s support is free and 24/7.
