320GB External Hard Drive Announced By Buffalo

A new portable hard drive has just been introduced by Buffalo, the MiniStation Turbo USB HD-PS320U2. The 320Gb dynamo hard drive features the 256 but AES encryption, using Buffalo Secure Lock Ware, Memeo AutoBackup ( only for Windows users ) and rotates 5,400 times per minute. It should be available from next month, for $319.

SanDisk Launches 8GB and 16GB ExpressCards

SanDisk recently launched the SanDism Express line of flash memory products. They are based on ExpressCard technology and the entire line aims to deliver high quality solutions to video photographers and regular photographers that need reliability, speed and durability. The Express line gets started with the first product, tagged simply as SanDisk ExpressCard. It will be available in two versions: 8 GB and 16 GB.

BitMicro announced 416Gb 2.5-inch SSD

SSD is a great storage technology, being fast, stable and with low battery consumption. Today, BitMicro announced a new 2.5-inch SSD with 416Gb of storage capacity. Currently, this holds the record for SSD capacity, but it’s not even close cheap. Unfortunately, we aren’t able to buy the memories until March, 2008.

Hints: 240 GB iPODs by 2009

Toshiba recently launched a prototype hard disk that uses special Discrete Track Recording (DTR) technology in order to create a 120 GB storage space system on one 1.8 inch platter. This is the first ever use of DTR. The entire technology is based on increasing areal density of PMR by 50%. Mass production of these hard disks should start in 2009.

There are three new models released in the OneTouch 4 series: the OneTouch 4 (250 GB - $100, 500 GB - $170, 750 GB - $270), the OneTouch 4 Plus (250 GB - $130, 1 TB - $360) and the OneTouch 4 Mini (80 GB - $100, 120 GB - $120, 160 GB - $150). Sony’s MicroVault USB Sticks Vulnerable to Hacker Attacks

Sony just confirmed that they found a security flaw in some of its products that can leave a PC vulnerable to hacker attacks. The problem is with software packaged with memory sticks, which was developed by third party. The solution is immediately offered and the company said it will offer a fix by mid-September.

HP MediaSmart Home Server Launch Delayed

Hewlett Packard (HD) just announced the delay in release of the HP MediaSmart Home Server in order to allow Microsoft to fix and make improvements to the Windows Home Server operating system. This comes as a normal reaction to the announcement that Microsoft will be delaying the publishing of Windows Home Server. According to HP, the expected delay is of “75 to 120 days”. WebEx PCNow Connects With iPhones

A recent upgrade to WebEx PCNow 3.0 lets iPhone users check their Microsoft Outlook e-mail and view files stored on their remote Windows computers. Soon the remote option will also be available on MACS. Jack Chawla, senior director of product management with WebEx declared:

Samsung Announced 1.8inch 160GB HDD

Two months ago, Samsung announced a 1.8 inch, 4,200RPM, 15 ms seek time and less than 1W power consumption, 120GB HDD, called SpinPoint N2. Now, they announced a HDD with the same features, but with 160GB capacity.
