1 Million Downloads for Safari 3 Beta

Only a few days passed since Apple announced that the Safari Web Browser is now available for Windows. The company seems to be very satisfied with their beta version because they already released the numbers game against Microsoft Internet Explorer and Mozilla Firefox. Apple Inc. declared that over 1 million copies of Safari 3 for Windows were downloaded in the 48 hours since the official launch. Firefox 3 Updates

Mozilla programmers are always working. Now they are rewriting a lot of Firefox code in order to prepare for the third version of the popular free web browser. Older code is being replaced in order to increase performance and there is a lot of work in making it more modular and handling new security threats like malicious web sites and phishing. Linux and Microsoft Deal

Microsoft just announced that it will license digital media and instant messaging technology to Linspire Inc, a small desktop Linux distributor. This is just the last of many deals the company did in order to help the Windows OS work better with open-source software. The move is interesting because the two companies have not had the beast of deals in the past. Linspire Inc. started out as Lindows and ended up receiving $20 million from Microsoft in a trademark settlement trial in order to change their name to Linspire. Concerning …

Safari to run on Windows

Apple Inc. just launched a special version of their Safari Web Browser that is specially designed for Windows PCs. Now there is another competitor against Internet Explorer and the ever gaining popularity Mozilla Firefox. Steve Jobs, Apple CEO, declared:
“What we’ve got here is the most innovative browser in the world and the most powerful browser in the world.”

Adobe Launches New Apollo Software

Adobe Systems Inc. plans to release new design tools that should minimize the difference between offline running software and programs that need an active Internet connection to work. The newly developed system is capable of running both online, in Web browsers and offline on desktop computers without the need to rewrite any piece of code.
