Only a few days passed since Apple announced that the Safari Web Browser is now available for Windows. Mozilla programmers are always working. Now they are rewriting a lot of Firefox code in order to prepare for the third version of the popular free web browser. Older code is being replaced in order to increase performance and there is a lot of work in making it more modular and handling new security threats like malicious web sites and phishing. Microsoft just announced that it will license digital media and instant messaging technology to Linspire Inc, a small desktop Linux distributor. This is just the last of many deals the company did in order to help the Windows OS work better with open-source software. The move is interesting because the two companies have not had the beast of deals in the past. Apple Inc. just launched a special version of their Safari Web Browser that is specially designed for Windows PCs. Now there is another competitor against Internet Explorer and the ever gaining popularity Mozilla Firefox. Steve Jobs, Apple CEO, declared:
