HP Color LaserJet 2840
[21 Mar 2007 | No Comment | ]

There is not too much that a sub-$1,000 color laser printer can give you to make it stand out, but the HP Color LaserJet 2840 gives you the best you can get for that price. The prints are very good and it has several interesting features.
It measures 19.6 by 37 by 29 inches and weighs about 75 pounds. It’s not small, but that isn’t something you should expect. The control panel clusters are very well-designed and it’s easy to use; also, it’s interface includes an alphanumeric keypad, one-touch access to the fax phone book, and …

Lenovo ThinkPad X60s
[21 Mar 2007 | No Comment | ]

It’s the latest in ThinkPad X series and there have been some upgrades made, but it still doesn’t have built-in optical drive but it has a large keyboard and some other things which may make for it’s price. Also, it lacks built-in support for ExpressCards so you will probably like it a lot, or dislike it a lot, depends what you need.
It measures 10.5 inches wide, 8.3 inches deep, and 0.8 inch thick and it weighs 2.7 pounds but if you add all the needed to it, it will be a bit heavier. It has a …

Canon EOS-1D Mark II N
[20 Mar 2007 | No Comment | ]

The Canon EOS 1D Mark II N now allows “split recording”. The camera can save the RAW file to one memory card (typically the CompactFlash card as CF generally has higher capacity per $ and overall at this time) and the JPEG to the other (typically the SD card). Retained is the ability to save the same image simultaneously to both cards (great for backup purposes) or to save images to one card until it is full and then continue saving on the other card.

The Canon EOS 1D Mark II …

Samsung SGH-F700
[20 Mar 2007 | No Comment | ]

It’s an HSDPA capable 3.5G smartphone, with download speeds of up to 7.2Mbps (where supported), plus UMTS (3G), EDGE and GPRS, but the Samsung F700 does not appear to support WiFi.
The SGH-F700’s landscape/portrait mode and slide-out QWERTY keyboard are reminiscent of HTC devices such as the TyTN, but it is quite rare to see other manufacturers with this type of form factor. The Samsung F700 has a 2.8″ 440×240 pixel display which is slightly better than most competing smartphones which have just 320×240 pixels. However, it still can’t compete with …

RIM BlackBerry Pearl Red (AT&T)
[20 Mar 2007 | No Comment | ]

The RIM BlackBerry Pearl did good, ever since it came out; this version doesn’t bring anything revolutionary but it has some new features that give it a new spin. It has a design which is probably makes it the best looking BlackBerry to date. It measures 4.2 by 2.0 by 0.5 inches and it weighs 3.1 ounces.
Also, it’s available in dark ruby red or in a glossy black-and-chrome finish. The 2.25-inch TFT screen that displays 65,000 colors at a 240×260-pixel resolution is very big and makes it look good but …

Sanyo Xacti CG65
[20 Mar 2007 | No Comment | ]

The Sanyo Xacti CG65 is a digital compact camera. Even if it looks like a video camcorder (and can function like one, at VGA level), it is primarily a still camera, which brings to mind the Canon Powershot TX1’s form factor.
The Sanyo Xacti CG65 packs it in at 6 megapixels and 5x optical zoom. It also features what Sanyo claims to be a high-precision LSI (large-scale integration) engine III for image processing. That’s supposed to enable the Sanyo Xacti CG65 digital camera to realize image processing functions such as real-time …

Sony KDS-R60XBR2
[20 Mar 2007 | No Comment | ]

If you want the best quality even if it’s expensive, this is probably a good choice for you. It may look massive because the speakers it uses extend beyond the already massive television’s frame, but it would look so even if they wouldn’t. It measures 66×40×20.3 inches and it weighs 121 pounds.
The speakers are not so pretty looking; they are silver, while the screen itself is framed by a glossy black border and also there is a gray pedestal base supports the silver cabinet, and a small panel opens up to reveal an A/V input with composite video …
