Apple’s press conference in UK is soon to start and everyone thinks that is where the first iPhone deal in Europe will be presented. With this in mind we also have hints of a Germany launch and now of a possible French iPhone deal. France Orange is the latest rumored to join Vodafone Germany and an undisclosed UK mobile operator. We could expect to see a 300 euro French iPhone to appear on the 29th of November. The announcement might become a reality on the Apple Expo event in Paris …

Apple showed an interesting recent hostile behavior against DIY ringtones. It comes in complete contrast with the company’s neutrality neutral policy towards third party iPhone software available. After only 10 days passed since the release of iTunes 7.4.1 (this eliminated the easy possibility of getting an individual’s own ringtones on the iPhone) we now witnessed the launch of iTunes 7.4.2. This update allows for applications like iToner and MakeiPhoneRingtones to add DIY ringtones to your new Apple mobile phone. The first problem you have to deal off though is the …

Unexpected, T-Mobile doesn’t seem to sell iPhones in Germany, as a Vodafone iPhone was seen on a BMW at Frankfurt Motor Show. Also, on BMW’s website you can see a picture with a Vodafone iPhone in a BMW, so it’s almost official.
You can see in the photo above that on the upper left part of the display it writes “Voda” from Vodafone and as the photo comes from BMW’s official website, it shouldn’t be photoshopped.

Apple is setting up a press conference next Tuesday and many believe there is a strong possibility this means the iPhone will officially launch in the UK. It seems there are also some clues as to why people believe this. A secret is said to be revealed and London is not the town to launch something big for Apple. With this in mind, you can add to the list the fact that most of the reporters invited are involved in mobile phone connections. This again points to the fact that …

OK, so now the iPhone unlock can not be stopped, once with the release of iUnlock. It seems that customers of iPhoneSIMfree’s biggest distributor, Aussie iPhone Unlock, have a problem. It seems that emails were sent to their customers that said the iPhoneSIMfree is not responding to honoring new orders for unlock licenses. It was also stated that the company was going to donate money from orders to the iPhone Development Team. This was the first piece of news that sounded strange. An official response was given by iPhoneSIMfree today …

A free, open source iPhone SIM unlock software has been released and it’s called iUnlock. The source code has been made public and there’s no chance AT&T can stop the iPhone unlocking.
If you want to unlock your iPhone, here, here or here you can find the files needed for the process. Actually, the software has been tested and it seems to work and, above that, you can always restore it.
Unfortunately, the unlock could make YouTube not to work anymore, but this doesn’t seem to be a major issue and is …

Apple needed to do something with the outraged iPhone buyers and they did just that. After the protests over the $200 price cut, the company will give iPhone users a $100 store credit. In an open letter by CEO Steve Jobs, the price cut decision was defended but the issue of previous mobile phone buyers was also addressed. The company acknowledged that they treated the early buyers as they shouldn’t have and stated:
“Even though we are making the right decision to lower the price of iPhone, and even though the …

We recently announced the price cuts in iPhones and the results the event had were sure to eventually appear. The new iPod line unveiling had an interesting side effect. Just around 10 weeks after the iPhone was launched it got a price cut of $200. This basically translates in the fact that people that rushed to purchase the new gadget paid around $20 more for each week that passed since that day. One commenter at the MacRumors blog said:
“I feel like I just got punched in the face. Fanboy tax …

Research results published by iSuppli reported that the iPhone took in 1.8 percent of all mobile phone sales in July. The device was compared with other smartphones and feature phones although you could not really classify it as either. The only similar mobile phone that competed was LG’s Chocolate. Sales for the iPhone and Chocolate were equal. The official statement said:

Australians are definitely eager to get their hands on the iPhone and the 2008 launch term is not enough. It seems like importing from US and hacking the mobile phone / music player is far more popular. A shot of the new LG VX10000 recently appeared across the Internet. This is the closest we can get to the successor of Verizon’s enV phone. Taking a first look at it we can say that there is only a slight change in design, making it look sleeker and with a larger screen. Besides that there is no piece of information available. We do not know when it will appear or the price at which it will be sold. What is for sure is that the mobile phone is almost …

It is no secret that hackers have figured out how to unlock iPhone’s At&T monopole and it was only a matter of time until something was to be done about it. Now we need to talk about possible legal problems. The situation is simple. If you unlock the iPhone and use it to place calls with a different carrier, it is considered legal. If you try to gain financial benefits you might end up facing law suits. This is why many companies are hesitating when it comes to make money …
