There are different rumors around the Internet that Apple is currently delaying the release of their popular iPhone in France. It seems that there are 2 different laws in this country that do not head up with Apple’s wish to capture as much money as possible. One law passed in 1998 requires a mobile phone carrier to unlock any cell phone for a fee in the first 6 months of the contract and free after that, if the customer so desires. Apple was said to be in talks with Orange …

Many studies have been done in the past pointing out that some top personalities that work for different mobile phone carriers or companies linked with cell phones do not really use the products they are selling. A recent study even pointed out the fact that more than half of the individuals surveyed are in the category mentioned above. There is no surprise in that but it is the first time that I personally saw some stats. In most cases this is a question of offers available. Mobile phone companies and …

Different analysts have pointed out that around 10% of iPhones sold are actually bought by individuals that unlock them and then resell them at higher price tags around the world. There is a limit of purchasing 5 iPhones at a time and it does look like a lot of people are doing so. This would actually translate in the fact that there are a lot of unlocked iPhones out there, certainly more than previously reported as different users are also unlocking their mobile phones themselves. Apple did not gain popularity when they cut the price of their 8GB iPhone by $200, all just 2 months after the popular mobile phone debuted. The company responded to angry buyers by offering a $100 iPhone credit for those that paid more money for the device. This was still not enough for several early adopters and one of them actually sued Steve Jobs, AT&T and Apple for “just” $1 million. I am talking about New Yorker Dongmei Li, which eventually purchased a 4GB iPhone version as the 8GB model …

Nokia recently launched the unlocked N95-3, the model that brings back the originality of N95 with a few extra features. The most important aspect that needs to be discussed is HSDPA on the 1900 and 850 MHz bands. We also see a battery with a higher capacity, a camera lens that was recessed, twice the amount of RAM memory and two color availabilities in “Dark Sand” and “Black” for the back of the mobile phone. The front is still silver no matter what. We can notice the new Nokias in …

Life Record launches a new service that can put your health records on your Apple mobile phone. The downside is that AT&T charges quite a lot for data transfer. On the other hand, the entire feature can prove useful. In the demo video launched we can see a doctor using a password to gain access to a Web site and then utilizing …

Apple showed an interesting recent hostile behavior against DIY ringtones. It comes in complete contrast with the company’s neutrality neutral policy towards third party iPhone software available. After only 10 days passed since the release of iTunes 7.4.1 (this eliminated the easy possibility of getting an individual’s own ringtones on the iPhone) we now witnessed the launch of iTunes 7.4.2. This update allows for applications like iToner and MakeiPhoneRingtones to add DIY ringtones to your new Apple mobile phone. The first problem you have to deal off though is the …

Unexpected, T-Mobile doesn’t seem to sell iPhones in Germany, as a Vodafone iPhone was seen on a BMW at Frankfurt Motor Show. Also, on BMW’s website you can see a picture with a Vodafone iPhone in a BMW, so it’s almost official.
You can see in the photo above that on the upper left part of the display it writes “Voda” from Vodafone and as the photo comes from BMW’s official website, it shouldn’t be photoshopped.

Apple is setting up a press conference next Tuesday and many believe there is a strong possibility this means the iPhone will officially launch in the UK. It seems there are also some clues as to why people believe this. A secret is said to be revealed and London is not the town to launch something big for Apple. With this in mind, you can add to the list the fact that most of the reporters invited are involved in mobile phone connections. This again points to the fact that …
