
The computer is essentially becoming a device that will help spread awareness, information as well as education across the world. In an attempt to spread education and ensure that even the poor can afford information in this form the givernment is making vigorous attempts to launch a laptop that would be affordable as well as useful, XO 2.0 version is a great tool and priced at nearly $100 it is something that is of great utility.
An upgrading of XO 1.0 and the arrival of the precise and sleek Xo 2.0 would serve the purpose in style.

Toshiba has been one of the leading manufacturers of laptops and once again it has thrown up a surprise to all its competitors. The new Portégé R500-S5007V weighs a mere 1.08 pounds which is comparatively lighter than MacAir launched by Apple. Also it is the slimmest laptop at just 0.77 inch measurement at its slimmest point!
Not only Toshiba have tried to hit its competitors’ share in this category but they have also introduced for the first time, probably, a 128 G-byte SSD in a laptop which can help the laptop to be operational for a longer duration. It is undoubtedly a worthy mention, isn’t it?

Ushering in their latest addition to the market’s escalating roster of compact computers, VIA Technologies, Inc. presents OpenBook Mini-Note, a 1-kg laptop heavily-clad with innovative features poised to carve its rightful niche in the mobile computing scene this current year.
The VIA OpenBook totes the offshoot of the VIA Ultra Mobile Platform, embedded with a VIA C7-M ULV processor and the unified VIA VX800 digital media chipset, all displayed at a maximum resolution of 1024×600 pixels on an 8.9-inch LCD. Additionally, the hard disk comes with a minimum capacity of 80GB, and the DDR2 DRAM up to 2GB.

ASUS were present at Computex with a laptop that looked pretty old, and its design didn’t say there was anything unusual about it. But when you looked carefully, you could see an image projected on the wall in front of it, and that image came from a built-in projector from the oldish laptop. (more…)

The 2.0 version of the ExpressCard will be updated to keep up with today’s growing speeds, and is almost sure to be available somewhere between ’second-half 2008 / early 2009′. The card will comply with SuperSpeed USB (to be released by the end of this year, ‘part of the USB 3.0 specification) and PCI Express 2.0. (more…)
