After Intel’s quad-core processor announcements for the high-end line, it’s the time for some low-end to come, so they’ve now unveiled a dual-core Celeron processor. Neither it’s performances or price are high, so it’s a good thing for those that aren’t interested in gaming or advanced applications and want to go cheap.
They will probably release an entire line, but for now they’ve only announced the 1.6Ghz E1200 model, with 512Kb of L2 cache, with an 800Mhz FSB, priced at $53, in bulk. We are pretty sure many other will follow …

A researcher named Joseph Ashwood inspired from the multicore processors to begin working on the multicore memory, that he sees in stores in the next few years. He began designing the multicore memory and has been reviewed by a team from Carnegie Mellon.
If his plans will actually work, his design will allow memory to get bigger and also faster, because his planning to organize data in a new way, across individual memory cells. He states that doubling the size will also double the memory speed, with a ratio of 1:1 …

Lenovo has stated that Intel is facing a delay in sending the new Penryn chips so it’s causing an issue with the laptop industry. Unfortunately we don’t know what happens and Intel hasn’t yet got officially with this to talk about the problem.Actually it seems that they have an issue with the thermal sensor and they might start shipping the chips at full capacity starting February, but as we’ve said nothing it’s official. The chips affected seem to be the T8100, T8300, T9300 and T9500. We hope to see them …

The rivalry between Apple and Intel seems to vanish. In the near future, the “fruit company” will be one of the numerous supporters of Intel’s “Menlow” Mobile Internet Device (MID) platform. Apple will use for many products on 2008 the 45nm Silverthorne chips. These mini-chips are as fast as the second generation of Pentium M processors, but they “need” between half-a-watt and two watts of electric power. Apple will use Silverthorne for cellphones, ultra mobile PC’s and other MIDs. The chips will be available for about $100 when Apple will start shipping them in early 2008.

AMD released the Phenom 9600 chips contrary to what recent rumors said. They launched a “Black Edition” quad-core processor that can use the OverDrive utility. It is said that these chips have a bug which could cause the CPU to under-perform. AMD has related that they didn’t meet these problems only on its internal stress tests. You can always install a BIOS patch to fix the problem with the price of 20% of your computer’s speed. We are waiting for you to tell us what you think about these chips.

Intel will not hurry up to release the 45nm quad-core Yorkfield chips because AMD didn’t manage to finish the Phenom chips. Until then, Intel will continue to sell the 65nm chips. The Core 2 Quad Q9300, Q9450 and Q9550 were scheduled to be released in January 2008. We are waiting to see what will happen, considering the fact that Apple will launch 45nm Penryn on the new Mac Pro.

If it comes for very good graphics then the NVIDIA GeForce 8800 3-Way SLI is the best, but there is one problem it will also be the most expensive one. If you want one you will have to spend a lot of money because the cards are expensive (you are restricted to the 8800 GTX or 8800 Ultra only) and to use it you will need a 1100 watts power supply and an nForce 680i or 780i SLI motherboard. According to PC Perspective it will cost around $2828. If you …

AMD is looking to include in their products integrated graphics which can support hybrid crossfire. AMD showed a demo of this technique to PC Perspective of the new more powerful chips by showing a 2.2 GHz Phenom, with RS780 and RV620 integrated graphics, both unreleased. Frame rates, from games like Unreal Tournament 3 and Call of Duty 4, increased from 30 fps to 55 fps when hybrid-mode was turned on. The first series of chip capable of hybrid CrossFire will be delivered in the first third of next year and will cost …

Samsung unveiled the fastest memory in the world, the GDDR5, as they say. This new double-data-rate memory chip is four times faster than the GDDR3 (which is used on modern GPUs), transferring data at 6Gbps, and also uses 20 percent less power. NVIDIA and ATI received from Samsung samples of this chips. It is expected by Samsung that until 2010, the GDDR5 will capture more than 50% of the PC graphics market.
