AMD Triple-Core To Come With Dell’s “Heineken” Business Destops

Rumors that Dell is going to drop AMD doesn’t seem to be true and Dell is preparing to release two desktops featuring triple-core AMD Phenom. This new computers are code-named “Heineken” and officially called OptiPlex 740 and OptiPlex 740 Enhanced. The OptiPlex 740 will feature a single-core or dual-core AMD Athlon 64 with GeForce 6150LE graphics/chipset, while the OptiPlex 740 Enhanced will sport a triple or quad-core AMD Phenom processor, GeForce 6150LE/nForce 430 motherboard.

APX-2 HD Audio PC Announced By Onkyo

 Onkyo, a company known for producing HD audio PCs has just finished a new version, named the APX-2 and built in partnership with SOTEC. The APX-2 features a 1.66Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo T5500, a 500GB HDD, 1GB of RAM and a digital audio amplifier. Also, being made especially for sound, it’s extremely silent, with the HDD stored in a Super Floating HDD unit that ensures an excellent noise cancellation of up to 22dB.

$199 Mirus Linux PC Available At Sears

Another desktop has joined the sub-$200 battle, being released by Mirus. I’m sure you don’t have high expectations, but this one seems to use grandma’s decade components, that won’t let you do much before freezing.
The laptop is priced at $199 after a mail-in rebate and it features a 1.6Ghz Intel Celeron 420 CPU, 80Gb HDD, 1GB of RAM, a 56k modem, a CD-RW drive, a 15-in-1 memory card reader, an Ethernet port and it also comes with a keyboard, mouse and a pack of speakers.

Apple has just updated the Mac Pro, being the fastest Mac ever produced, with Intel’s new Penryn Xeon. The new Mac Pro, as we’ve said, sports Intel’s 45nm quad core Penryn Xeon 5400 ( Stoakley ) processor, at up to 3.2Ghz and uses two of those, being an 8-core.

The SC072 Catapult unveiled by SiCortex

SiCortex announced a new computer: the SC072 Catapult. It sports 72 processors, 48GB of RAM, three PCIExpress slots and Linux environment. This is a computer of high performance that uses a power of no more than 200 watts and has enough room for six internal hard drives and a pair of gigabit Ethernet ports. The SC072 is priced at $15,000, which may seem a lot but compared to its performance it isn’t that much at all.

The updated Mac Mini comes in two configurations, one features a Intel Core 2 Duo 1.83Ghz, 1Gb of DDRAM and a 80GB HDD. It’s priced at $599 and it can be upgraded to a 2.0Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo and a 120GB HDD, the memory remaining the same for $200, for a final price of $799.

Dell EC280 Announced in China

Dell’s Chinese department has announced a new Mini-ITX PC, at a low price, low sizes and low power. The Dell EC280 comes with a 1.2Ghz Intel Celeron M 205 CPU, 256 or 512MB of RAM, a 40GB or 80GB HDDm a CD or DVD-ROM and comes with Windows XP Home Edition preinstalled.
The EC280 will be priced at $340 and it’s a low-end PC, that can only manage general tasks, excluding games, video editing and stuff like this.

HP desktops announced today, HP’s Pavilion Media Center TV m8000n PC only features a basic cosmetic redesign.
