Canon PowerShot A460 Reviews
The Canon PowerShot A460 has a 4x zoom lens, but takes quite noisy images and it only records videos at 10fps in VGA mode and at 30fps in QVGA, at 320×240 resolution. This budget camera is quite expensive for it’s features and it’s image quality. It has a 5 megapixel sensor, being a low-end digital digital camera.
It’s design looks like a brick and it’s quite bulky, weighting 7.4 ounces and being 1.6″ thick. You can’t really fill it in your pocket. The buttons are wrongly placed and you can easily press others by mistake or zoom in/out.
It’s plus is the 38 to 152mm 4x lens that aren’t met even on more powerful and expensive cameras. A460’s display is a bit small, at just 2 inches and, fortunately, it features an optical viewfinder, which is needed on some shots. It’s video recording mode is not pleasant for most users, with 10fps in VGA mode and 30fps in 320×240 ( QVGA ) resolution.
The camera’s performances are not great, but acceptable for a camera priced this low. It takes 1.7 seconds to start up and capture an image and additional photos can be taken at every 1.5 seconds, if the flash is turned off.
The Canon PowerShot A460 has a ISO 400, but it takes extremely noisy images, this being a main disadvantage. There are much cheaper cameras that take better images.
