A AVCHD camcorder has been announced by Canon. The HR10 features a 1/2.7″ CMOS sensor and a Digic DVII processor. It is quite a small camera, in comparison with it’s competition and also sports optical image stabilizer, HSMI and component outputs, is connectible with a PC via USB 2.0, the 3.1MP images are stored on a miniSD memory card and it has a 2.7″ LCD display.

The Canon HR10 is fully HD capable, has instant AF, 10x optical zoom and records the videos on 3″ DVD-R or DVD-RW discs. Unfortunately, it won’t come bundled with any software to help you edit and manage your videos, so you will have to pay for it. The camera should be available in August at the price of $1,199.
