Apple earlier today unleashed iTunes 8, the newest version of its media player application. iTunes 8 gives you a fresh way to browse your music, improved accessibility for the vision-impaired, and a new automatic playlist-generation feature dubbed Genius. Google has started an ambitious project to digitally archive millions of pages of old newspapers.
In 2006, Google started working with the New York Times and the Washington Post to index existing digital archives and make them searchable via Google’s search technology. The new effort expands that initiative, with the goal of reaching every story ever printed, “from the smallest local weekly paper up to the largest national daily,” according to a post on Google’s official blog.

Google has launched its Google Chrome browser, and competitors are quite worried. They are worried not because Google has entered the browser war which was expected for some time but because Chrome is more than just a browser. Google wants to take over the Internet world, more or less, by providing a browser which is more or less a standalone Internet-oriented operating system, because it runs complicated web applications across different operating systems, which eventually can become obsolete.
