AMD “Forces” Intel to Delay Yorkfield Chips

Intel LogoIntel will not hurry up to release the 45nm quad-core Yorkfield chips because AMD didn’t manage to finish the Phenom chips. Until then, Intel will continue to sell the 65nm chips. The Core 2 Quad Q9300, Q9450 and Q9550 were scheduled to be released in January 2008. We are waiting to see what will happen, considering the fact that Apple will launch 45nm Penryn on the new Mac Pro.
