Google Maps to Add Store Interiors?

Search Engine Land claims to have received a tip from a New York retailer called Oh Nuts, saying that Google visited their store and took several photos for a new Google Maps product called “Google Store Views.” Apparently, Google took photos of the store every 6 feet, in all directions. They also took pictures of products.
That being said, it seems like Google is planning to allow Google Store Views users to essentially “walk into” a store. So imagine you’re using Google Maps; you can enter a store simply by clicking on it. Once you enter, you will have the ability to walk through the store, and possibly even view products.
Search Engine Land says to have emailed Google asking about the new product, and got this response: “We are always experimenting with new features for Google Maps. We have nothing further to announce at this time.”
