Civilization Coming to Facebook in June

You know those Facebook invitations you receive several times a day that you’ve pledged never to accept? You know,  Mafia Wars, Cafe World, YoVille, FishVille, ThisVille, ThatVille, and of course, everyone’s favorite, FarmVille. Gamers – that pledge of yours may have to be rewritten just a few months from now. According to Variety, Sid Meier’s Civilization Facebook app will begin beta testing in June.

The Facebook platform game — called Civilization Network — was announced a few months ago, and both gamers and the press noted that Civilization and Facebook seem like an excellent match. It’s easy to picture the addictive-but-relaxing, turn-based gameplay of Civilization IV or Civilization Revolution.

There isn’t a whole lot said about the game presently, but for now, you can follow its Facebook fan page for future updates.
