One huge request Apple has been getting from iPod/iPod Touch users is for their device to have a camera. These people might just get their wish some time in the near future. MacRumors features a few photos of future iPod Touch and iPod Nano cases. Notice those new holes in the back? We’ve only come up with one main idea for what those are for. Future versions of the iPod may very well have cameras on them.
If Apple added cameras to its line of iPods, there would be another 3+ million of them hitting the market per month, and the low end of the digital video camera market could be crushed. Putting a camera in the iPod touch, which uses the same operating system as the iPhone, is a logical next step for Apple. But the order size is supposedly so large that some people in Taiwan are speculating that Apple may be planning to put cameras in the lower end of the iPod line, too.
Not sold yet? TechCrunch tells us that one of their sources in Asia gave them the information that Apple has just ordered a massive amount of camera modules destined for future iPods.
