Now, everybody can be a singer. How? With the help of a music recording software called Direct Note Access, you can manipulate groups of musical notes, individually. It was created by Peter Neubäcker, programmer and erstwhile guitar at his German-based company, Celemony.
The software will be used as a plug-in for the Melodyne voice and instrument tuning software. Before this software, this was possible only for single notes and from now on, the engineers will create new music from already existing recordings. Check out the video below and see what Direct …

Nowadays more-in-one products make a lot of buzz and Viatek has just released a lightbulb, that, as you might think, makes light. But the interesting part is the air ionization it does, forcing the bad smelling pollutants to drop to the ground, by attaching to them.
The Viatek Ionic costs $15 and the idea seems great, but unfortunately it doesn’t seem to work very well. Hopefully they will do a bit more research and release another one.

Researchers from the University of Glasgow, Scotland have developed a nanotechnology that will revolutionize the “world of storage”. The scientists managed to create a chip that increases the capacity of conventional MP3 Players by 150,000 times which leads to a total of 500,000 GB.
According to Prof. Lee Cronin, one of the authors of the research, they developed a switch the size of a molecule and they were “able to assemble a functional nanocluster that incorporates two electron donating groups, and position them precisely 0.32 nm apart so that they can …

Here is an interesting idea, actually very interesting but not sure how many of you will like this product. Graffiti is found all over the world and soon all graffiti “artists” will be able to take their work to the next level. Suck UK develop an interesting concept, glow graffiti. The new product will give the possibility to paint with light and maybe this will make graffiti more likeable by the people and the authorities. We don’t know anything about the pricing and the only thing that we expect is …

Graphene is a material discovered about four years ago and it consists of a single layer of graphite. Now, a team of researchers from the School of Physics and Astronomy at the University of Manchester managed to develop world’s smallest transistor using this innovative material.
Some scientists say that this material can replace the silicon in the next years. A transistor is an of/off switch and is indispensable for microchips and for most of electronics. The leaders of the research were Dr Kostya Novoselov and Professor Andre Geim, both from Manchester’s …

Most of the people who are trying to buy a sound system are facing a problem - they can’t find suitable speakers that match the design of their interior. Now, Oskar Daniel came up with an interesting idea called Hive modular speakers which can be placed on the wall. Actually, the speakers can entirely fill up the wall with their pleasant modular shape.
The Hive needs only one cable which includes both the audio and the electricity. The modular speakers can be placed individually in order to provide a better surround …

In a big world we need small things and here is the smallest in its class - Toshiba’s HDTV digital camera which measures 1.6 inches. The IK-HD1 HDTV camera was unveiled this month at the National Association of Broadcasters and it manages to capture 1,920 x 1,080 at 30fps.
Although it’s very tiny, inside you can find 3 CCD chips with an output of 1080i broadcast quality color. I know that the future digital cameras will get even smaller, but until then Toshiba should be very proud of their achievement.

In 2006 many MacBooks and ThinkPads were recalled because their manufacturers spotted some problems at the batteries, problems that could make them catch fire. Nowadays, the batteries seem to have regained their safety, but specialists warn that they still can catch fire in case of “mistreatment”.
Researchers are trying to eliminate entirely the risks therefore a team of developers from the Fraunhofer Institute for Silicate Research ISC, Germany, announced that they replaced the “the inflammable organic electrolytes with a non-flammable polymer that retains its shape”. These words are of Dr. Kai-Christian …
