MacBook Air SuperDrive to Ship in 2-3 Weeks

For those that have already pre-ordered MacBook Air or are planning to buy it, Apple has announced the MacBook Air SuperDrive. The dual-layer burner only weights 1.06 pounds and is powered by USB, looking just as the MacBook Air laptop.

Super Hi-Vision ( 33 Megapixel ) to be Ready in 2015

The 1080p generation seems to come to an end due to the Japanese Government, that announced it’s plans to develop Ultra High Definition ( or Super Hi-Vision ) standards by 2015. What does this mean ? Well, a resolution of 33 megapixels ( 7,680×4,320 ) and a 22.2 channel surround sound.Until now they have problems with building the camera to record videos at this quality and the equipment to transfer it, because it’s a 24Gbps stream. Dell Beauty Leaked

The guys at Engadget have posted a leaked Dell laptop, with an impressive design that should be only 0.78-inch ( 20mm ) thick, with aluminum extrusion and carbon-fiber chassis, that might want to compete with MacBook Air. It will also sport a LED backlit display, but nothing’s sure yet. We are waiting for Dell to announce it.

Intel’s Penryn Chips Delayed

Lenovo has stated that Intel is facing a delay in sending the new Penryn chips so it’s causing an issue with the laptop industry. Unfortunately we don’t know what happens and Intel hasn’t yet got officially with this to talk about the problem.Actually it seems that they have an issue with the thermal sensor and they might start shipping the chips at full capacity starting February, but as we’ve said nothing it’s official. The chips affected seem to be the T8100, T8300, T9300 and T9500. We hope to see them …

Via’s NanoBook Becomes Maxdata Belinea s.book 1 Mini-Note

Maxdata, the German hardware manufacturer, transformed the NanoBook prototype into Belinea s.book 1 Mini-Note. The laptop is based on a Via 1.2 GHz C7-M processor. Some other features are: 840×840 LCD display, 802.11 WiFi, Bluetooth and DVI port. In total it weights 2.2-lb and you can have it for only $924, but another advantage is the Skype 1995 handset which can be attached to the laptop.

Laser Tv To Compete Against HDTV

It seems like laser TV will be the next generation of, you guessed, TVs. Frank DeMartin, GM of Mitsubishi Digital Electronics America, said that laser TV provides the best quality because “laser has the ability to hit color points that no other technology can.” We suppose that he is referring to HD technology, the main rival of laser TV. He also said the price will be competitive with those of flat panels. Frank is confident that laser TV will hit he market immediately. We are not sure what to say …

NEC Will Launch Its Own Curved Dispay

Just like Alienware, NEC has launched its own curved display. Although everybody is impressed by DLP display, they shouldn’t ignore the CRVD-42DWX+ display that NEC brought at CES. Theoretical they are very similar, the curved display is a 2880×900, double WXGA+ (if anybody is interested), with a contrast ratio of 10000:1. We suppose that NEC’s display is built by the same manufacturer that built Alienware’s product , Ostendotech. 52-inch LG.Philips Multitouch at CES

LG.Philips has presented a great multitouch display at the 2008 CES. The 52 incher has a resolution of 1,920×1,080 pixels and is using an infrared sensor for it’s touch capabilities, being able to recognize the touch in two different points.

Alienware’s Curved DLP Display

We found out more informations about Alienware’s curved DLP display. It will be launched in the second semester of this year. In the image above it’s shown a prototype model and probably they will change its appearence and its inner circuits. Inside lies four DLP projectors LED backlit and which their “after-effects” can be seen on the display, but they will appear only when you take a photo of the display.
