MAC OS X LeopardThe Mac OS Leopard has made a lot of fuss lately and i’m sure a lot of you - mac users are thinking if it’s worth to upgrade or not. So here you have some reasons not to upgrade, if you are in the following situations:The Leopard upgrade doesn’t work with a lot of customization tools, like the Application Enhancer ( APE ).

Third party developers didn’t have time to update their software, so there may be issues with some of your applications, like Adobe. Unfortunately, Apple was in a rush so if you really need to use all your old software and also try Leopard, use both Tiger and Leopard in dual boot.

Unfortunately, the connectivity with Windows is not very good, so if you have windows networking, you should better stay with Tiger.

Think better before upgrading and if you really aren’t in any of this situation, then there should be ok with upgrading, but you never know.

Mitsubishi i-MiEV

More and more electric cars are being released and Mitsubishi couldn’t stay apart from this, so at the Tokyo Motor Show they announced the compact i-MiEV car. It will be powered by a pack of Li-ion batteries, that will offer the car an autonomy of 100 miles.

Unfortunately, the charging takes quite long, with 7 hours at 200V and 14 hours at 100V, but considering the consumption and that it’s environmental friendly, we should make a sacrifice and wait. Initially it was projected to be released in 2010, but then they’ve announced it might get in the market a year sooner, in 2009.

Currently, we have no pricing or specifications, but it looks like a nice car and it might be cheap.

Apple iPhone limited

Maybe you’ve heard that almost 250,000 of the total 1.4 million iPhones sold in Q4 were unlocked and this pissed off Apple, that decided not to sell more than two iPhones per individual. Also, they will only accept payments by credit or debit cards, to keep away the unauthorized resellers.

Apple seems to be really serious with this iPhone unlocking stuff and they really don’t want people to unlock them. They should be happy selling them and leave people to do everything they want with them.

Fisker automotive

A great plug-in hybrid luxury car has been announced by Fisker Automotive to be released next year at the Detroit Auto Show in January. The company will produce about 15,000 cars annually, being priced at a bit less than $100,000.

The car uses the latest hybrid technologies, developed by Quantum Technologies, being produced exclusively for Fisker Automotive. This car is developed both to protect the environment and also be a luxurious, powerful hybrid plug-in concept.

This technologies will probably be used in the future for many cars, because it’s a fuss now with the environmental friendly cars.

ferroelectrics feramMost of the current devices are Flash and RAM-based, like cellphones, computers, pocket PCs, PMPs and many more. Wouldn’t it be great if you could store data ten times faster than on a Flash memory and also it would last for more than 10 years ? Well, Dr. Shin Young-han states that he figured out how to deal with ferroelectrics and we might use FeRAM in the future that will have the capabilities i was talking about. But currently nothing is for sure, so we can only wait and see if he really succeeds to develop the memory.
