Taiwan to switch all traffic lights with LED-based ones

LED are becoming more and more used and so Taiwan announced than in the following three years all their traffic lights will use LED technologies. The project will cost them about $7 million and they will begin to replace the lights from 2008, changing 420,000 traffic lights. This change will both improve the quality of traffic lights and reduce power consumption with almost 85%.
